Becky and Ben Inshaw lovingly transformed Becky's grandmother's Victorian property into their dream family home

- CHARLOTTE LUXFORD

Lasting LEGACY

Becky Inshaw has fond childhood memories of her grandmother's house, from sleepovers with cousins to running riot through her grandad’s vegetable patch. As fate would have it, Becky and her husband Ben are now raising their own brood here, sons Sebastian and Maxwell, after renovating the house to make it suitable for modern-day family life.

The couple were living next door to Becky's grandmother in a doer-upper they'd just completed when Becky's grandmother passed away in 2018. The last thing on their minds was buying a new house, but when her detached property near Birmingham was about to go on the market, Becky found it hard to envisage anyone else living there. ‘I knew it was going to be a big project for whoever bought it, and I couldn't bear to see all our childhood memories being ripped out of my nan’s house,’ she says.
