Amid cuts at Loose Women, we are told Denise Welch is considering her options

Denise 'LEAVING ON HER OWN TERMS'

The past few months have been unnerving for those at Loose Women, following the news of dramatic changes to the show's schedule from January 2026. And veteran Denise Welch has become the latest panellist to search for work away from the daytime programme.

The star, who rose to fame in a number of small TV shows before gaining wider notability in 1997 when she joined the cast of Coronation Street, has revealed that she's keen to get back to her acting roots. 'I'm on television because I'm gobby and opinionated, and I think people can forget what I really do, and what I'm really good at,' Denise, 67, said in an interview. She added, 'So I'm going to make a concerted effort to go back to what I do and know.'

While there are no reports that Denise is considering leaving the show, this isn't the first time that she's said she wants to get back into acting, previously admitting, 'I am for the first time in a while missing my acting.' She added, 'I miss theatre and I don't mean commercial theatre. I mean small theatres where the people are nearly sitting on your knees. It's my origins in theatre that I want to go back to.'
