HOW CAN WE KEEP WATCHING GAZA STARVE?

The tragedy in Gaza is deepening. And that is hard to fathom. How can the world continue to watch as Gaza starves to death? Israel's three-month aid blockade has sparked catastrophic warnings from the United Nations of imminent famine. It's an unrelenting nightmare: where civilians burned by bombs cannot even be doused in water because it has run out. Where babies die from dehydration, food has vanished, hospitals are broken and disease is spreading fast through tents and rubble. The International Court of Justice has begun hearings from approximately 40 countries on what Israel must do to provide humanitarian assistance to Palestinians in Gaza - but the wheels of justice turn slowly.

'I worry that five, 10, 20 years from now, we will look at our children and grandchildren in shame and we will not be able to explain to them why we could not stop this horror,' said UN humanitarian coordinator Olga Cherevko.
