As she recovers from a major operation, the star is fighting back

Lorraine Kelly's recent absence from her much-loved morning TV show had fans worried. The presenter revealed she had undergone a major operation to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes.

Sharing a typically positive video from her hospital bed, she said, 'I've not been feeling all that well for a little while, so I had some scans and tests, and I have to have my ovaries and my tubes taken out. It's purely preventative. It's going to be with keyhole surgery, which is incredible. I'm being very well looked after and I'll obviously see you really soon.'

After her announcement, Lorraine's celeb pals came out in force to support her. Former This Morning star Holly Willoughby wrote on Instagram, 'Sending you lots of love and get well soon,' while the likes of Katie Piper, Susanna Reid and singer Craig David sent well wishes.

Thankfully, the operation went smoothly and within days, the TV legend was allowed home to recuperate. At the time Woman went to print, Lorraine told fans she hoped to be back at work on 19 May.
