Fergie and Meghan HAVE NO SHAME'

Could the Duchess of York and Duchess of Sussex be the greatest modern threat to the Crown, asks royal editor Emily Andrews

Fergie and Meghan HAVE NO SHAME'

When they married into the Firm, they were a ‘breath of fresh air’. Fergie was the glamorous redhead who had captured the heart of the Queen’s favourite son. Meghan an actor and self-made celeb, who met Harry through an internet blind date.

Now, the Sussexes and the Yorks have caused irreparable damage to the monarchy.

For different reasons, yes. But they have one thing in common - both have cashed in on their proximity to the monarch to enrich themselves. Shorn of the duty that is the baseline for being royal, they are perceived by many to be shamelessly spoiled and horribly entitled.

Let’s start with Fergie. Ever since Prince Andrew was photographed walking in New York with the convicted paedophile Jeffrey Epstein in 2010, the Yorks have been on borrowed time.

It was Andrew who first fell from grace after the disastrous BBC Newsnight interview six years ago, in which he failed not only to apologise for his supreme lack of judgement, but also to show any sympathy for Epstein’s victims.

He was the victim here, not the poor girls who were trafficked for sex...

Then Virginia Guiffre, infamously pictured with Andrew’s hand around her tiny waist in Ghislaine Maxwell’s London townhouse, sued the duke for sexual abuse.
