Reflections from a stand-up guy
We were enjoying a family weekend away recently when a strange thing happened. After dinner on Friday, while we were sitting letting our skin stretch, our eldest daughter, who's 14, suggested we play a family board game.
Time froze, jaws dropped and a wave broke in the distance. Impressive considering the time-freezing thing.
“How about Monopoly?” she asked an indifferent sister and two incredibly stunned parents. She never does this. She generally resists being present for the dinner part, let alone any extracurricular activity. Her suggesting we play a game after dinner's like your dog suggesting you sit and talk instead of going walkies.
