● Making music is still something I love to do.
Writing and producing music has been a constant for me - has been since I was 18. And through all these years, it's not the contract that I have with the record company that keeps me writing songs; it's a need to find a way to express something important in a new way.
● I remember when I had my big breakthrough hit, How Am I Supposed To Live Without You? in 1990.
I'd had some success before that as a songwriter, but I was no newcomer - success came after almost 20 years of me trying to crack the business as a singer and songwriter.
● I don't recognise the word "retire".
