Jewellery BUT MAKE IT ART
Wedding Affair

In India, jewellery isn’t just about sparkles, it’s about stories.
-
Before diamonds became the modern bride's thing, Indian artisans were busy painting with fire, carving gods into gold and turning silver into lace.
Colour Me Pretty - Meenakari
If I could learn to paint jewellery as I paint my skies on canvases, I would have loved to be born in the Mughal era and try my hand at Meenakari. But alas! Neither was I born in that era, nor in Jaipur, where this art of jewellery making still prevails and gets nurtured.
This centuries-old enamelling technique of firing powdered glass onto the gold and silver allows artisans to create intricate ornaments full of colours, which are dipped into symbolism to take part in a bride's journey. Red for love, green for prosperity, blue for peace and yellow for joy— each hue is skillfully painted on detailed floral motifs, peacocks and divine patterns carved on delicate ornament pieces to bring out their charm and enhance the bride’s radiance on her most treasured day. Moreover, what makes Meenakari irresistible is its chameleon-like ability to complement any wedding aesthetic and seamlessly blend with other jewellery art forms.
An authentic piece of Meenakari creation has a secret charm of its own. The back is often as detailed as the front; a testament to the artisan's dedication that most will never see, much like the quiet tremor of a bride's heart. When making the purchase, know that a true Meenakari work does not have bleeding colours or rough edges. Should you notice either, know you're holding an imitation.Care for Meenakari Jewellery: It's delicate and prone to chipping, so handle with care. Keep it away from perfume and moisture, and wipe it with a soft cloth after use. Store separately.
