Meet Neha and Rohan, the dynamic duo who took a leap of faith by leaving behind their corporate careers to embark on an ambitious journey: igniting a renewed passion for book reading in a tech-driven world. Their start-up, Book Nerds, is not just a business; it’s a movement aimed at harmonizing the tactile pleasure of reading physical books with the convenience and innovation of digital technology. They have ingeniously struck a balance that fosters a vibrant reading culture, proving that it’s not a matter of choosing between digital platforms and physical books; rather, it’s about complementing each medium to enrich the reading experience. In this exclusive conversation, TW’s Anirban Dasgupta sits down with Neha Raj , co-founder of Book Nerds, to explore the inspiration behind their groundbreaking initiative and the powerful impact it has on readers today. Join us as we delve into their story, their vision, and the exciting future they are crafting for book lovers everywhere.
Let us start by learning from you about the concept of BookNerds and how it works.
Me and my husband, co-founder, Rohan Raj, to whom I’ve been married for 10 years launched Booknerds. Back in 2015, we were looking to solve a problem that had been eating at us for a while. In short, we wanted to connect readers and authors like never before using our expertise in tech, arts, design, literature, and community building.

A GREEN WARRIOR in the heart of the Thar
I had the pleasure of meeting Dr Jitendra Solanki during a training programme on ecotourism organised by the Bombay Natural History Society (BNHS) and was instantly taken in by his deep love for the desert landscape. His knowledge of Rajasthan's wildlife, its resilient people, and the delicate balance that defines this unique ecosystem was truly inspiring. What stood out most was his passion for showcasing a different, more responsible side of Rajasthan, one that celebrates its natural heritage and communities with equal respect and sensitivity. It is for this; we celebrate him today as a Green Warrior.
