Park Hyatt makes its UK debut within the city's regenerated Nine Elms

What's it like?

It has long been an anomaly that Hyatt’s most luxurious brand, with locations in prominent cities around the world, has not had a presence in London. Rather than opt for an established location like Mayfair or the West End, Hyatt has chosen to locate the UK's first Park Hyatt in a twin-tower development in Nine Elms, an up-and-coming area along the south-west of the River Thames.

Formerly home to car manufacturers and locomotive workshops, the area now boasts the US Embassy and the redeveloped Battersea Power Station. This luxury hotel opened in October, located a five-to-ten minute walk from Vauxhall Station. Upon arrival, I was struck by the wooden and copper Ebb and Flow ceiling installation that weaves its way through the ground floor - created by Charlie Whinney and inspired by the River Thames - and the large Land and Water artwork by Ian Rayer-Smith.
