Motorola G85

A BALANCE OF PERFORMANCE AND FEATURES

The Moto G85 positions itself as a versatile and performance-oriented device within its segment, boasting a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 processor, 8 GB of RAM, and a 6.67-inch P-OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate.

This combination ensures a fluid and responsive user experience, whether you’re navigating through apps or streaming content. The 1080x2400 px FHD+ resolution of the display delivers crisp visuals, though the curved edges, while aesthetically pleasing, can sometimes complicate app interactions. The unique “karate chop” gesture to activate the flashlight is a notable Moto-exclusive feature, adding a practical touch to the device.

The Moto G85 is equipped with a dual rear camera setup featuring a 50 MP wide-angle primary sensor with up to 8x digital zoom and an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle lens. The front 32 MP wide-angle camera excels in capturing sharp selfies. The camera system delivers decent quality, suitable for most everyday photography needs, but it doesn’t stand out as exceptional in its class.

Battery life is robust, with a 5000 mAh battery providing up to 30 hours of usage. However, the charging process can be frustratingly slow despite the fast-charging capability, sometimes taking up to 2-3 hours to reach full charge and occasionally requiring replugging.

The phone’s build is sleek, with a well-balanced weight and a clear cover that offers good protection. The speaker quality is impressive, ensuring clear call quality even when the phone is placed a few feet away. However, the device has a few quirks, such as water droplets on the screen inadvertently triggering actions and an excessively small font size in apps with no adjustment options.
