■ I'm a big fan of electric bikes that don't look like electric bikes. The CGO009's rear-mounted hub motor is barely noticeable and the battery has been hidden inside the top tube. It's also removable, which is practically essential if lugging the bike up close to a socket would be a pain.

■ The 250W hub motor dishes out its 45Nm of torque in a controlled way. Pedalling feels smooth and natural, not like you're waiting for the power to arrive or that it's taking over from your legs entirely. There is a boost button but the effect is subtle.
