Christmas 2025

With a brighter display, bigger battery and better processor, does Samsung's latest mega-tablet have what it takes to leap into the mainstream?

Across the slate divide

from £1199/go.stuff.tv/TabS11Ultra

When it comes to producing Android tablets with big screens and equally big prices, Samsung is in a league of its own. The Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra is not in any hurry to change that. It's just slightly slimmer and lighter than the S10 Ultra, and pairs Media Tek's Dimensity 9400+ processor with either 16 or 12GB of RAM, depending on whether you go for the extravagant 1TB model or stick with the more reasonable 256GB and 512GB varieties. My review unit is the 12GB/256GB version, so sets the baseline in terms of performance.

At £1199 before you've even added a keyboard cover, the Tab S11 Ultra is going up against Apple's largest iPad Pro - and is twice the price of the OnePlus Pad 3, my current favourite Android tablet.

Its sheer size and price mean this is still something of a niche proposition, but it does come packing pretty serious specs. Could it be good enough to attract some new fans?

Wide the lightning

The Tab S11 Ultra's design only deviates slightly from last year's effort, which itself was a dead ringer for the model before it. This is still a sizeable slab of glass and metal (1); and while you can hold it one-handed comfortably enough, I mostly used both hands.
