The first laptop line from Zebronics sports Dolby Atmos in their Pro Series Z laptops, and here's what we found.

TESTED ZEBRONICS ZEB NBC 4S

■ Zebronics Series Z includes devices featuring 12th Gen Intel Core processors from i3 to i7. These are not the latest or the most powerful currently in the market, but amply justify the price. The ZEB-NBC 4S is the midspec variant with an Intel Core i5-1235U processor.

■ The first thing you notice about this laptop is how well it is built. The matte-finished top cover feels surprisingly classy with shiny CNC-milled corners and the design reminds you of some top brands. It's heavy for sure, but the compact charger makes up for it. The lid opens 180° and the hinges appear smooth and well-damped.

■ The 2MP webcam has a sliding shutter and the large trackpad hides a square fingerprint scanner. The keyboard feels somewhat lifeless, though expecting anything better would be asking for too much since it’s hard to find a perfect one on this budget.

■ Equipped with an Intel Core i5-1235U CPU with clock frequency maxed at 4.4GHz with Turbo Boost, the device offers 15W TDP. The ZEBNBC 4S comes with 8GB or 16GB RAM installed, which can be expanded to 64GB distributed between the two slots and the installed 512GB M.2 SATA SSD can be swapped for a 1TB module.

Plain Display The 15.6-inch FHD IPS display isn’t even close to mid-level screens and reproduces 55% sRGB colour gamut, but who needs more except creative pros?
