The new power equation

AI is heating up data centers—but smarter cooling, greener power, and carbon pricing are flipping the script. This story reveals how tech infrastructure can be both high-performance and low-impact. Clean code meets cool racks, for a smarter future

The new power equation

The data center has become the heart of the digital economy—but it's also one of its biggest energy guzzlers. As AI workloads scale and demand for real-time compute intensifies, the question isn't just “How fast can we process?” It's also “At what cost-to business and the planet?”

In this context, Delta Electronics India isn't just keeping pace—it's rewriting the rules. At the helm of this evolution is Pankaj Singh, Head of Data Center & Telecom Business Solutions, Delta Electronics India. We spoke to him to unpack how Delta is blending cutting-edge innovation with uncompromising sustainability.

AI is powerful, But power-hungry

“The rapid expansion of AI and high-performance computing (HPC) has led to increased power and cooling demands in data centers,” Pankaj explains. It's a double-edged sword: as algorithms grow smarter, the infrastructure must work harder—especially to keep things cool and energy-efficient.

Delta's response? Smart engineering. “We've developed advanced power delivery and cooling solutions that enhance efficiency and sustainability,” he says.

A highlight: the company's latest showcase at NVIDIA GTC 2025, where Delta unveiled next-gen power and liquid cooling solutions purpose-built for the heat-hungry world of AI and HPC. The message is clear—if workloads are evolving, so must the infrastructure.

Internal Carbon Pricing

“Since 2021, we've implemented an Internal Carbon Pricing (ICP) mechanism, setting an internal carbon price of US$300 per ton,” says Pankaj. This is more than a number. It's a decision-making tool.

The collected funds don't sit idle—they're reinvested into:

  • Energy conservation

  • Carbon reduction projects
