WINDOWS 10 MOVING DAY: GRAB YOUR COPY OF LAPLINK PCMOVER EXPRESS
PC Pro
|September 2025
We've teamed up with Laplink to give PC Pro readers software that makes it even easier to migrate from an old PC to a new one - for free
-

As Windows 10 nears the end of its support period, you may be planning to invest in a new laptop. Unfortunately, the excitement of getting a new computer is somewhat spoiled by the hassle of transferring all your personal files and settings across from your old machine. Windows unhelpfully scatters your documents and configuration files all over the file system, and even buries some settings in the Registry, so trying to copy everything across by hand is a tedious and indeed almost impossible endeavour.
That's why this month we're giving PC Pro readers an exclusive licence for Laplink PCmover Express. This ingenious tool can transfer every bit of your personal content from an old PC to a new one in just a few clicks - including not just files, but user accounts and Windows settings, too. The only thing that's not moved is your applications: if you need a complete, programs-and-all migration, see p54 for details of our Laplink PCmover Professional 11 offer.
PCmover Express works with any version of Windows from 7 onwards, and requires no special hardware or configuration. The software automatically establishes a link between your old and new computers, and handles every aspect of the transfer - all you need to do is make sure that both systems are connected to the same network. A regular WiFi connection is fine, although if you can connect both computers to your router with Ethernet cables that will probably speed things up.
