Delivering 15% more performance than its predecessor, this is a solid choice for 1440p gaming

When Nvidia launched the 16GB model of the RTX 4060 Ti, it played second fiddle to the mainstream 8GB version. This time around, the roles have swapped, with Nvidia pushing the 16GB version of the RTX 5060 Ti and the 8GB model being far less common.
And for good reason. Most games are still able to run okay on 8GB cards at 1080p with maxed-out settings, and often even 1440p. But 4K proved to be too much in several games in our test suite, so if you're spending this much on a card - the cheapest version of the RTX 5060 Ti costs around £350 - then it makes sense to choose 16GB.
One of the biggest changes with the RTX 50-series (Blackwell) is support for GDDR7 memory. The 4060 Ti was stuck with vanilla GDDR6 memory running at 18Gbits/sec, while the 5060 Ti is boosted to 28Gbits/sec, giving a potential 56% increase in total memory bandwidth. This story is from the July 2025 edition of PC Pro.
