Mediocre battery life, but if you like the 2-in-1 format - or simply having a touchscreen —this is a good-value choice

- TIM DANTON

Dell 16 Plus 2-in-1

The first thing that strikes you on opening up the Dell 16 Plus 2-in-1 is its sheer scale. The 16in panel seems to stretch forever due in part to the slim bezels on either side, while a 357mm width means the keyboard deck has plenty of room for a number pad. Flip over the lid and you have a huge tablet on your hands, albeit one that weighs 2.1kg. You won't be carrying this around like an iPad but resting it on a table or your lap.

Why might someone want to buy a 16in 2-in-1 laptop? Reading through people’s comments on previous such laptops on Dell’s website, watching video films a in tent format or a tablet came up time and time again, while one customer mentioned how easy it was to use for presentations (again in tent mode). Another praised itasa virtual piano - the size helps here - while the majority simply enjoyed having a touchscreen and a big panel with a high resolution.
