OLED GAMING MONITORS
PC Gamer US Edition
|September 2024
A fresh wave of OLED panels brings fresh options, greater resolutions and makes for even more impressive gaming monitors
OLED gaming monitors deliver the most spectacular image quality. It would be a cop-out to say 'you have to see it to believe it', but you sorta do. The snappy response, vibrant colors and astonishing contrast blend together to create the most engrossing screens on the market right now. Few non-OLED gaming monitors come close.
A new wave of OLED gaming monitors has since arrived and are set on improving upon the first with thoroughly impressive panels. Most noteworthy has to be the arrival of 4K OLED gaming monitors, including the Alienware 32 AW3225QF, Gigabyte Aorus FO32U2, and Asus ROG Swift OLED PG32UCDM. Though you will have to spend a pretty penny to secure any of them.
32 AW3225QF ALIENWARE $1,199
The best 4K OLED
1 It’s tough to fault the AW3225QF. A 32-inch gaming monitor fit with a sparkling new QD-OLED panel, it’s a more attractive high-end gaming monitor than the Alienware AW3423DWF we’ve rated as the best gaming monitor for well over a year now. That’s because it’s a fully-fledged 4K panel and all the better for the extra DPI and detail that brings. The buff to the AW3225QF’s resolution makes all the difference to its clarity and overall sharpness. Providing you have the GPU to push it, the 240Hz refresh rate and 0.03ms response times offer huge opportunity to a competitive gamer, though an OLED gaming monitor is built for more than speed alone. The AW3225QF is vivid, rich and punchy. That’s true of every single OLED gaming monitor included in this group test, but the AW3225QF feels that little bit punchier than the 4K OLED competition based on the same Samsung QD-OLED tech. The glossy coating helps heaps, too. I’d also bet it’ll end up as one of the cheapest.
