“Nothing says ‘don’t notice me’ like fighting 14 people at once…”

It's quite the challenge stepping away from a Yakuza game, even for a short time. When you're in the full flow of it, it's magnificent, distracting, all consuming. All that matters in the next fight, substory, or absurd story beat.

You can't remember a time when you weren't battering goons with bikes and replenishing your health with ramen. Stop playing for even a week, however, and coming back to it is bewildering. You find yourself smoking on an oil rig repurposed as a coliseum frequented by sociopathic proto-Musks, dressed in a gold suit, with only the most basic concepts of who betrayed who, when, and why. It's all part of the process though.
