remarkable Paper Pro

$579 (optional Marker Plus stylus $50, Book Folio case $89, Type Folio keyboard case $229) From https://remarkable.com Features 11.8-inch screen, 2,160 x 1,620 resolution, 229ppi, 1.8GHz quad- core ARM Cortex-A53, 2GB memory, 64GB storage, up to 14 days' battery life (regular use)

THIS NEW E-INK tablet is the third model from reMarkable, but it doesn't replace the reMarkable 2. Instead it offers a high-end alternative that makes several advances over its acclaimed sibling. The screen is bigger at 11.8 inches against the reMarkable 2's 10.3-inch display. This is achieved by both increasing the size of the tablet (10.8 x 7.8in instead of 9.69 x 7.36in) and reducing the bezels. It's a little thicker at .20in and heavier at 1.16lb (the reMarkable 2 weighs .88lb), but it's still comfortable in the hand and not much thicker than the USB-C port that's used to charge it. The Paper Pro tablet uses the same Linux-based reMarkable operating system as its stablemate, so upgraders should feel right at home.

Of course, the main advance the Paper Pro makes on the reMarkable 2 is its color screen. While the regular reMarkable tablet offers only black, white and grayscale, the Paper Pro can handle 20,000 colors, rendered from yellow, cyan, magenta and white. The colored ink particles contained in each of the screen's pixels are transparent, while the white ink is reflective. As a result, colors are produced through various mixes of the three colored inks on offer, with all three together creating black.
