Industry statistics fully demonstrate that the plant-based momentum is far from slowing, with a healthy portion of consumers (40%) expressing that they plan to purchase plant-based meat substitutes in 2023.¹

In addition, an increasing number of flexitarians who have a primarily vegetarian diet but occasionally consume meat or fish means manufacturers should look to build a range of plant-based products to cater to this growing segment. An FMCG Gurus survey² found Asia to be leading the way in the market, with 28% of consumers already describing their diet as flexitarian.
