|March 2025
Gaming on Choosing the perfect smartwatch is no simple task. It's a blend of design, functionality, price, and, most importantly, compatibility with your smartphone.
Whether you're an iPhone loyalist or an Android enthusiast, the right smartwatch should enhance your lifestyle with fitness tracking, notifications, navigation, sleep monitoring, and much more.
For Apple users, the Apple Watch remains the gold standard, while Samsung's Galaxy Watch series is tailored for Galaxy phone owners. However, there are platform-agnostic options from brands like Garmin, Nothing, and OnePlus. With no major smartwatch launches early this year, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 continues to dominate the market, but there are plenty of excellent alternatives for different needs and budgets.
1 APPLE WATCH ULTRA 2
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 boasts a stunning Retina OLED display with an unmatched 3,000 nits of brightness.
Its titanium build ensures durability, while the S9 processor introduces the intuitive Double-Tap gesture for seamless control. Thanks to precise GPS tracking and watchOS 11's enhanced hiking waypoints, its rugged design makes it a favourite among adventurers.
Though its battery life still falls short of competitors, it outlasts the standard Apple Watch. Despite the release of the Series 10, the Ultra 2 remains Apple's most capable smartwatch, offering the brightest display, deepest dive capability, and premium materials.
However, it's strictly for iPhone users and comes at a premium price.
2 APPLE WATCH SE 2The Apple Watch SE 2 is the best balance of price and features for most Apple users. It shares the same processor as the Series 8 but omits an always-on display, ECG, and blood oxygen tracking.
It also lacks Double Tap, but it retains all core fitness tracking features and life-saving functions like Car Crash Detection.
