Al explains every flag as DISCOMs shift to data-led inspections

The company, a Powerthon-1 (an energy hackathon initiated by the Ministry of Power) winner, gained the opportunity to showcase its solutions and is currently executing two national-scale projects with DISCOMs. Suruchi Kulkarni disclosed the company's strategies in talks with EPR during India Energy Week 2026.

How do you assess the growth potential of India's smart meter market, and where does your company see its competitive edge?

There is immense potential in this market, propelled by the government's plan to install over 25 crore smart meters. We have already crossed the five-crore installation mark, and while deployment was slower in earlier years, the pace has clearly picked up. Today, we are adding nearly two to three crore smart meters every year, which is supported by a strong push from the ministry. This makes the market large enough for everyone, including competitors.
