Former President Donald Trump has announced that a deal has been reached to end the House floor revolt triggered by disagreements over proposed cryptocurrency legislation.

TRUMP ANNOUNCES AGREEMENT TO END HOUSE FLOOR REVOLT OVER CRYPTO BILLS

The announcement, made during a closed-door meeting with Republican lawmakers and later confirmed by GOP leadership, signals a shift in party alignment on digital asset policy and marks a strategic attempt to unify Republicans ahead of upcoming legislative sessions.

The agreement aims to resolve internal conflicts that had paralyzed legislative action in the House for several days, including a blockade on routine procedural votes. At the center of the impasse was frustration among a faction of House Republicans who claimed that crypto-related bills were being stalled or sidelined by leadership, despite growing bipartisan momentum for clear digital asset regulations.

Trump's direct involvement in the House standoff reflects a growing political emphasis on cryptocurrency policy, especially as the 2024 election cycle heats up. Though Trump has previously expressed skepticism about Bitcoin and other digital assets, his recent remarks have shown a softer tone, particularly in response to increasing support for crypto among younger and libertarian-leaning voters.

According to several lawmakers who attended the meeting, Trump told Republicans that resolving the procedural gridlock was "in the party's best interest" and emphasized the need for a united front on financial innovation. He also reportedly urged lawmakers to give floor time to crypto legislation that has already cleared committee hurdles, including the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act (FIT21) and the Blockchain Regulatory Clarity Act.

House Majority Leader Steve Scalise confirmed shortly afterward that a consensus had been reached to advance select crypto bills for floor votes later this summer. "We're moving forward.
