Saracens hold on to keep Quins out

SARACENS inflicted a first defeat in the Premiership Cup on local rivals Harlequins in wet and windy conditions at the StoneX Stadium.
The win by the Saracens youngsters was only good enough for third place in Pool C, as Quins’ last-minute try secured them a bonus point and second place in the pool.
Fly-half Tiff Eden said: “It wasn’t a pretty day, but the lads trained well all week and put in the graft, and we got the reward for it tonight. There were lot of good efforts out there – winning scraps and kicking battles.
“We’ve got an unbelievable set of forwards who absolutely grafted and two big units in the centres who carried all day and so much pace out wide. It’s easy coming in when they’re helping me out like that. I try and focus on the basics and got the result tonight.
“There are guys who have had opportunities this week and credit to the young guys here.”
