McKenzie's injury mars Chiefs win

THE Chiefs made it three wins from three with a hard-fought 49-34 victory over the Brumbies but will be concerned over an injury to talisman Damian McKenzie.
The 61-cap All Black was withdrawn in the second half with a knee injury and was seen applying an ice pack and walking gingerly post-match after a high scoring encounter which saw fellow New Zealand players Josh Lord and Quinn Tupaea also forced from the field.
Brumbies took the lead as Nick Frost barged his way over but scintillating hands by the Chiefs backline saw Anton Lienert-Brown touch down. Josh Jacob continued the scoring down the left wing, but the seesaw contest continued as Declan Meredith exposed a clear overlap for the Brumbies.
Corey Toole made it all square at 15-15 at half-time but Tupaea produced a stunning chip and chase try to hand the Chiefs the advantage.
McKenzie picked out Gideon Wrampling to score, but the Brumbies hit back with a rolling maul try finished by Lachlan Lonergan.
Toole's hot stepping and link up play couldn't be contained as his good work from the wing put opposite flyer Andy Muir head in to score.
Super sub Wrampling then grabbed his second, while McKenzie continued his goal kicking prowess.
