TOM'S ROCKING IT WITH ROBINS

The 23-year-old has hit 17 goals in all competitions this season as the Robins mount a NPL Premier promotion push.

And the former Met Police, Gainsborough Trinity and Long Eaton United striker feels it's the result of a good footballing education.

"I've not changed anything this season specifically - I think it's a culmination of the past few years since my Met Police days," he told The NLP.

"I remember one of my coaches Jon Nurse, who is now at Enfield Town, saying when you hit 22, 23 years old that's when you really mature, grow into your body, fill out and really start being a threat.

"I keep thinking back to it because it's really ringing true. It's the result of mostly good habits over the last few years coming to fruition.

"My dad always says before every game to keep it simple.

And he's right. Doing the simple things well will get you further than doing amazing things inconsistently That's something I've taken on board and long may it continue." Cursons' game craft is benefitting from experience too having now accumulated more than 150 senior appearances.
