Supporters of the National League North outfit have endured something of an emotional rollercoaster already this summer as the club continues to grapple with off-pitch unrest, managerial change and a dramatic takeover development.

It began with the sacking of previous boss Adam Lakeland, who took Lynn to the play-offs last term, and ended with the appointment of James Rowe as the club’s new head coach this week.

The arrival of the former Gloucester City, Chesterfield and AFC Fylde chief raised a few eyebrows given his promising coaching career was placed on hold by sexual assault accusations two years ago before his acquittal last October.

Lynn, who were edged out of their play-off eliminator by Chorley, will continue to operate on a full-time basis next season and Suffolk-based Rowe revealed there were several factors that attracted him to The Walks.

"The training ground it’s less than an hour from me, so that’s one," he said.
