WORKSOP TOWN made it seven league wins in a row and kept the pressure on Macclesfield at the top of the NPL Premier.
Tigers boss Craig Parry praised his side’s character after the game: “I’m glad to get the points, we knew it would be a battle. I thought they were better than us, but we showed real character to stick together and dig in and win.”
In a battle between two sides aiming for promotion, both teams went for it in an end to end contest.
Guiseley had a chance in the opening five minutes. Leo Farrell met a cross in the area, and his shot looked to be going in, but Worksop’s keeper Sebastian Malkowski at full stretch pulled off a brilliant save.
