KARL IS BACK IN THE OLD ROUTINE

“I keep a level head when things go awry,” he said on his first day in the job.

And when goalkeeper Sam Booth was sent off last Saturday at Runcorn Linnets with the visitors a goal up, the 10 men in white did exactly that – stayed calm before scoring again to seal a 2-0 win.

It was a full circle moment; their manager’s debut in the dugout last October was against the same opponents when Trafford were bottom of the table in the Northern Premier League’s West Division.

At the final whistle this time around, their reward for a fourth successive victory was to occupy top spot.

“When I came in, they were used to losing,” Marginson told The NLP.

“It left scar tissue, and that takes time to heal. Results help, of course!
