TONY Mowbray heaped praise on his ten-man West Brom side following their “huge, Herculean” win over a spirited Queens Park Rangers, maintaining their place in the Championship play-offs.

Adam Armstrong's 40th-minute penalty gave Albion the edge but Darnell Furlong's red card for a suspected elbow on Koki Saito just before half-time left them with ten men for the second half.

“It makes me really proud that they have that in their stomachs,” said Mowbray.

“It was a Herculean effort by everyone. There are certain games you target and with all due respect to QPR and Hull, they are two of them.

“It means we can go to Burnley on Tuesday night with the same confidence we showed at Leeds United [a 1-1 draw] and look to pick up something.”
