“Peely was my hero growing up - I'd listen to his radio show late at night. The vast majority of the bands I listened to, I found through John - the ear he had was phenomenal. He was also one of the great broadcasters, I thought he was my best mate, before I'd even met him. We became great friends. No one in music did more for promoting brilliant new young bands, who wouldn't have got a sniff otherwise.”

“Matt is from The The - they have some great albums, particularly Soul Mining and Infected. The quality of the songs was phenomenal, and the words as well. Words usually come so far second for me, it’s the music first and always has been, but his words, he could be talking about Donald Trump in half of the songs, it’s as if they were written yesterday. A great writer with something to say, which stays for the ages.
