Pure bling as the British brand celebrates its 100th anniversary
The 1980s was a golden era for anniversaries. Campagnolo commemorated its 50th in 1983 with a special groupset adorned with 24-carat gold accents, a special '50' logo and Tullio Campagnolo's engraved signature. Pope John Paul II was presented with gruppo 0002.
Over in Nottingham, Raleigh was gearing up for its centenary. The iconic British brand's heyday had been and gone -winning the Tour de France in 1980 had been the apogee - but in 1987 Raleigh was determined to put on a show.
