A"roarsome” new species of two-clawed dinosaur has been discovered in Mongolia’s Gobi Desert.

The new species has been named Duonychus tsogtbaatari — the first name means “two-claws" and the second name comes from Mongolian scientist Khishigjav Tsogtbaatar.

The dino is a smaller relative of Therizinosaurus, a three-clawed ancient beast that stood on its hind legs.

The new fossil includes one of the largest fully preserved claws ever discovered, which is over 30 centimetres long. Even more exciting, the claw sheaths, or dino fingernails, are also visible. This is unusual because they were made of keratin (like your fingernails), which doesn’t usually fossilise. Scientists estimate that
