Scientists get excited for the first baobab tree to blossom in Britain.

An African baobab tree has burst into blossom at the Eden Project in Cornwall, England, and experts believe this is the first time it has ever happened in the UK. Known by the scientific name Adansonia digitata, a baobab can live for more than 3,000 years. For most of the year it has no leaves or flowers – its branches look like bare roots reaching into the sky, which why it is also called the “upside-down tree”.
