Meet the robotics expert who aims to inspire future generations.
-

Callum Daniel doesn’t just love building and coding robots. He is also passionate about sharing his knowledge with other people. When he was seven-years-old, he started his own company, iCodeRobots, which teaches children from all backgrounds how they can build and code their own robots. Now, at 14-years-old, Daniel is continuing to inspire the younger generation to prepare for the future of technology.
Early robotics
It didn’t take long for Daniel to realise that he loved robotics when he was growing up. He tells The Week Junior Science+Nature, “When I was four years old, I built Metanoid, my first ever robot, who was actually taller than me at the time.” Daniel was a big fan of science fiction films and TV shows, like Transformers, which is about human-like robots that can turn into vehicles or beasts.
He started going to technology events with his mum, where he would get to see futuristic tech and real-life robots, including an actual life-sized Transformer. This was when he realised how he could combine his love of what he’d seen on screen with actual technology to work on something great.
