For Colossal – a bioscience company that wants to bring back extinct creatures – 2025 has been a big year. In April, it announced that it had created the first dire wolf to exist in more than 10,000 years. It has also created woolly mice – an important step in the process of bringing back the extinct woolly mammoth. The company is led by technology expert Ben Lamm. When he sat down to speak to The Week Junior Science+Nature, Colossal was in the process of moving into a bigger lab because it needed more space for its research. Lamm was excited about it. “The new lab is awesome,” he told us.
