THE SCORE TELLS HALF THE TAIL
-
Pokémon Legends: Arceus was our favourite Pokémon game in a long time, simply because it offered just enough fresh ideas to revitalise the well-worn Pokémon formula, and this is the sequel.
Set in the Kalos region, previously visited in Pokémon X and Y, you arrive as a tourist in Lumiose City but quickly become embroiled in the local problems - specifically, an ever-increasing number of wild Pokémon and worse, ones that have become able to use their Mega Evolution forms without a trainer. To combat this, the city has set up Wild Zones for the Pokémon to inhabit and is seeking to find strong trainers via the Z-A Royale, a competition in which you must climb from Rank Z to the very top.

ENIGMATIC EXCAVATIONS
GAMES ARE OFTEN CANCELLED, AND THIS WAS ESPECIALLY TRUE IN THOSE TURBULENT EARLY YEARS OF THE UK VIDEOGAMES INDUSTRY. MOST DEVELOPERS WOULD EXPERIENCE A FEW, BUT ENIGMA VARIATIONS AND THE OWNERS' SUBSEQUENT COMPANIES HAD MORE THAN THEIR FAIR SHARE. IT'S TIME TO DISCOVER WHY

It's-a me, Pauline!
My daughter turned 16 this year, which means I've officially entered the stage of parenthood where anything I say is answered with eye-rolling. It also means I've been thinking a lot about when she was small - specifically the time she inadvertently sent me on one of the strangest, most meaningful missions of my life.
