BLENDING IN WITH THE LIVING IN DIVINITY: ORIGINAL SIN 2 PART 1
PC Gamer
|March 2025
Can the long-dead Mister Fibula pass himself off as a regular joe? Probably not...
The indignities just keep piling up. The esteemed Mister Fibula has been captured, shackled, and transported to the notorious island prison that is Fort Joy. Along the way, he’s been mistreated and manhandled by his brutish captors, the Magisters. And as if all that wasn’t bad enough, he is dressed in little more than grimy rags. For someone accustomed to the finest velvets Rivellon has to offer, this is torture.
But let’s look on the bright side for just a moment: we can be grateful that no one has yet noticed that Mister Fibula Esq is a walking, talking skeleton. The mortal inhabitants of Fort Joy all seem oblivious to the fact that the island's newest arrival is undead, and no matter how much tomb dust puffs out of his joints with every lumbering step, everyone seems cheerfully willing to accept him as a regular Joe. That’s fortunate, because the mere sight of anything undead is reason enough for any respectable inhabitant of Rivellon to grab their pitchforks.
So, how did our hero come to be so... corpsed, you might ask? Well, he doesn’t remember. As an elf, he would have enjoyed a lifespan equivalent to many human generations before finally being laid to rest. After that, well, odds are that he was raised from the tomb by some accursed necromancer in search of loyal corpses to command. Centuries have passed since then, however, and Mister Fibula has (as far as he recalls) never been much of a details guy. For the past 500 years or so, he’s been largely content to keep to himself, only leaving his exquisite home in search of essentials such as luxurious soft furnishings or elaborate pocket squares.
