I got to the end of your Mario Kart World review (E413) and was aghast at the complete absence of any mention of the Knockout Tour mode – in my opinion, the highlight of the latest instalment and a mode I’ve been playing regularly online with friends every Sunday evening since launch.

Knocked out
I then turned the page and discovered an entire Post Script piece extolling the virtues of this superlative mode, which went some way to appeasing me, but also left me wondering: do you consider the Post Script to be part of the review? I’d always viewed it as additional information that focused on an area of the game that deserved expanding on, but distinct from the actual review, especially as it comes after the score. But here, to not even mention World’s best mode within the review proper seemed like a massive oversight.

Post Scripts are definitely part of the review package, even if they don’t necessarily follow a familiar pattern from one to the next. We’ve taken this note on board for the future, though.
Cover versions
I have finally got around to watching Black Mirror. I made it into the third season and was watching the slightly daft but also painfully plausible Playtest episode. Imagine my surprise when one of the characters held up nothing less than a copy of my favourite magazine, with the episode’s game developer savant plastered on the cover. (The episode would go on to show another faux issue of Edge framed on the developer’s office wall.)
The idea of Edge producing a cover-story interview with a game developer working on an AR videogame that interfaces via a neck-mounted brain implant is just SO real. I certainly hope, though, that Future would not force one of your hapless writers to undergo the procedure for the article and (spoilers) end up in a body bag like the episode’s protagonist.
Either way, you can be sure I will still be a loyal subscriber in this dim, dark and not-too-distant future.
