Everyone knows tic-tac-toe. But can there actually be a fresh spin on it that brings new life to the game?

To begin the game, two tiles are removed from the bag and placed in the center of the play area. One tile should have the X side up, and the other the O side up. One player takes six X campfires, and the other player takes six O campfires. On a player’s turn, they draw a terrain tile from the bag and play it, flipping it to show their player side — an X or an O. When playing a tile, it must be placed adjacent to either a lake tile, which is a wild, or next to any tile of the same terrain type. If neither is possible, the player may place it next to any other tile.
