Umesh Gogna hails from Jaipur. His foray into photography began as a scholarly need and soon transformed into a lifelong passion.

Coming from a family rooted in the jewellery trade, his journey took an unexpected turn while working on a Ph.D. thesis on ancient Indian jewellery - prompting him to pick up a secondhand Pentax camera to shoot images for his research. This hands-on necessity soon became a creative calling. Over time, Umesh transitioned from jewellery to frames, setting up a home studio and embracing photography as his full-time profession. Today, he is a renowned Commercial and Advertising Photographer and a passionate practitioner of Travel, Landscape, and Astro photography. His visual storytelling has brought Rajasthan's rich heritage to life in several coffee table books, while his work has also been featured in government and tourism assignments. As a Sony Alpha and Leofoto Global Brand Ambassador, and former Canon Mentor, he has conducted over 400 workshops and is deeply committed to nurturing young talent in photography across India.
