Crafting a Father's Legacy in Print

Discover the journey of creating a custom-made photobook to commemorate fifty years of cherished memories and celebrate a milestone birthday.
Iam a 30-year-old packaging consultant from Mumbai, deeply involved in my family's offset printing and packaging business. Besides that, I am a freelance photographer specialising in interior photography.
I also love travelling and immersing myself in diverse landscapes and cultures, capturing these moments with my DSLR, drone, and smartphone.
Photography, for me, is about the stories each image can tell and the emotions they evoke. Whether it is the intricate details of an interior space or the breathtaking vistas from my travels, I love how a single photograph can encapsulate a moment, evoke a memory, and create a connection. The ability to preserve and share these unique perspectives and experiences is what drives my passion for photography. One of my most cherished projects is a photobook I created as a surprise gift for my father's 50th birthday.
This photobook spans his life from the 70s to 2019, with photos printed on premium gloss paper, giving them a colourful and vibrant look. The cover features a thick acrylic with the number '50' printed on it, overlaid with a photo collage of my father, all bound with a leather finish spine and back cover.
Many of the photos were scanned from old film photographs, making the photobook a captivating centerpiece in our living room.Creating this photobook was a heartfelt journey. We contacted close family and friends, collected their testimonials and photos, and arranged them in a year-by-year timeline from 1969 to 2019. This timeline became a heartwarming walk down memory lane, not just for my father, but for everyone close to him over the years.

Are you ready to pay the price for an incredibly thin iPhone?
I'm not going to lie; I'm a Pro Max kinda guy. Ever since Apple released the 11 Pro Max, I've naturally gravitated towards the biggest, mostest iPhone. The iPhone Air then is the kind of phone I'd expectedly veer away from, the antithesis of the Pro Max, a phone that prioritized slimness and hand-feel over camera versatility and battery life. But, three weeks of testing the Air has me reconsidering my priorities, appreciating the in-the-hand benefits I'd long forgotten.
