'Artificial Intelligence' (AI) - these buzz words cause a state of panic in several people. But what exactly is artificial intelligence?
The term 'artificial intelligence' was coined by an American computer scientist named John McCarthy in the 1950s. Google Cloud says, "Artificial intelligence is a field of science concerned with building computers and machines that can reason, learn, and act in such a way that would normally require human intelligence or that involves data whose scale exceeds what humans can analyze".
Let's try and apply this to photography. Using AI, we can create images that are not always possible to create using a camera or create images that are beyond our technical skill or imagination. But you are most likely to say, "that's cheating. If you create images with AI, why do we need photography, what is the future of photography"?
