Persistence pays off as Benedict Brain battles with his remote trigger on a bus in Malaysia

I love this photograph, taken recently from the back of a bus somewhere in Malaysia.

It was made using my new Fujifilm GFX RF, which is proving to be a near-perfect travel camera for me. However, the making of this image wasn't smooth sailing and, in part, it's a testament to determination. What you don't see is the frustration that preceded this frame. Naturally, I was seduced by the wonderfully kitsch curtains and their potential to 'frame' a vista and speak to my wider practice, which explores the 'tourist gaze' and the travel experience.

However, I needed to use flash to illuminate them in their full glory.
