THE Department of Energy (DOE) said that three current transformers were installed at the bay 1 of the Calangatan Switching Station in Oriental Mindoro to enable the full dispatch of a wind power facility's capacity in the island.

Prior to this development, the electricity generated by the 16.530-megawatt (MW) wind energy power facility operated by the Philippines Hybrid Energy Systems Inc. (PHESI), could not be fully delivered to the grid despite favorable wind conditions, the DOE explained in a statement on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.
