Winners revealed in this year's Nibbies – British Book Awards

The winners of the British Book Awards - or Nibbies - have been revealed with the overall winner announced as Patriot.

The memoir was awarded posthumously to author Alexei Navalny, the Russian opposition leader who died in prison. Patriot was also awarded the non-fiction: narrative book of the year award.
Accepting the award in his honour, Mr Navalny's widow Yulia Navalnya said: “He wrote in secret from a prison cell under the most brutal conditions. And yet he created a manuscript that speaks with clarity and conviction not only about Russia, but about freedom, justice and what it means to remain human.
