Fed up with watching women kicking a ball in a big field and men and women hitting a smaller ball with a bat across a net dividing a smaller field?

There is little comfort to be had in the schedules which also include horses running round in circles and cars running round faster in circles.

Honestly? I want the Lionesses to win the Euros and am not adverse to Wimbledon as long as Carlos Alcaraz and Mirra Andreeva win. I am, though, not fussed about watching either. As for horse racing and Grand Prix meetings - no thanks.

All TV channels prove challenging. Talking Pictures TV, That's TV and ITV 3 are showing films, dramas and sitcoms I either did not like the first time around or have watched so many times I can recite the scripts.

To the rescue comes Great! TV. I cannot abide Father Dowling Mysteries, Sue Thomas FB Eye or M.A.S.H. The made-in-Britain Randall and Hopkirk Deceased is a beacon of hope for an entertaining, thrilling 60 minutes. Hope was not dashed, not least of all because it was not the appalling remake with Bob Mortimer, Vic Reeves and Emilia Fox.
