Experience didn't quite live up to our expectations
The start of the New Year can be a strange time to go out for dinner. After the mad rush of the festive break, restaurants and bars are left comparatively barren as people try to get their heads (and wallets) around what the next weeks and months will look like.
One exception though is Vicar Lane - the numerous Thai and South East Asian spots that line the streets were bustling with people enjoying an evening meal in spite of the freezing temperatures.
When I finally got round to trying Mommy Thai, I hadn't realised it was so close to stellar alternatives like Thai a Roy Dee and the original Zaap Thai in the Grand Arcade.
